From a growler on a bicycle...
Beer Hatch actually began way back in 2020.
With the UK under lockdown, Saul sought to bring the best local draught beers to the door steps of the people of Norwich. Delivering high quality beers and the occasional smile, during a particular taxing time for many, Saul was confident there was a future for the business.
...to tins in a humble telephone box...
With lockdown a distant memory - and with many, many hundreds of delivery miles put on his bike and into his legs - Saul took the opportunity to set down some roots.
Never one to adhere to tradition, Saul setup shop in a red telephone box in the busy Tombland area of the city, establishing it as the UK's smallest bottle shop and stocking a modest selection of some of the countries best independently brewed IPA's, sours and all things craft beer!
But demand soon outweighed supply at the little telephone box and something had to give.
...to a crafty City Centre shop!
Finding it impossible to keep the micro bottle shop stocked and buoyed by the success of the little spot, Saul found the perfect spot, right next to the excellent Ribs of Beef pub and the decision was made to expand those roots into a shop 'proper'. In late 2023 Saul moved into 22a Wensum Street and Beer Hatch hasn't looked back!
With much more space available, Beer Hatch are now able to - not only stock a much greater selection of cans - but also offer ice cold pints straight from draught, along with a super chill hub for everyone to sit, socialise and enjoy the best beers.
